Part 1: Zuhur on the Snow
“Had enough?”
“Of throwing my body onto the hard snow repeatedly at near 20 miles per hour?”
“Yeah?”
“Of course not!”
“So, why are you stopping now?”
“I got to do my Zuhur, man.”
“You’d better be quick – the toilet sink is still vacant.”
“Have you done your Zuhur prayer yet?”
“Yeah…I did it under that tree out there in the field.”
“Out in the ass-freezing cold?”
“Yeah.”
“Why didn’t you find a hidden spot somewhere inside the building?”
“There are too many people inside – I don’t like being stared at.”
“Whatever, dude, as long as you say you’ve done it.”
“How are you going to do your prayers, man?”
“I’m going to wait for this small crowd of kids to clear up their table so I could pray at the corner next to them.”
“Beside the vending machine?”
“Yeah, right behind it.”
“I don’t think you have much time left.”
“I have 10 more minutes to Asar.”
“What if they won’t budge, even after the 10 minutes?”
“Then I’ll just have to pray my Zuhur as a qada’ then.”
“Is it valid, I mean syarak-wise?”
“Is there any other way to it?”
“No, I guess.”
“So…”
“Are you going to snowboard again after this?”
“Sure man! After I grab myself a snack and a drink, I’m heading off to the steepest hills!”
