[A Frog In Warm Water]
by YBLalat
Have you ever heard of the story of the frog that swims in warm water?
This male frog prefers snorkeling about in shallow, lukewarm
water to the usual cold one. Only God knows why this one frog
chooses such preference. Maybe mild temperature suited his whims
well enough to let him feel at ease.
Anyway, he is a very peculiar fellow this frog. He always jumps about
searching for a new spot to soak his slimy skin into, whenever
the former gives him the relaxing temperature he desires no more.
He would leap far and away, high and strong to find one that does.
One time, he finds the water in the lagoon he swims in have lost
its sense of comfort. Definitely uneasy and disturbed, he sets
off to journey beyond the vast of the unexplored, in search of a
new and warmer-climate water.
To make the story short and simple, this frog successfully found a
spot which is warmer and nicer than the previous. It was black and
made of steel and of warmth that never stops to rest from minutely
increasing degree by degree. From the initial dive the frog took,
the warmth of the water surprises him as it never ceases to make him
feel more at ease and pleasurable.
Every time he felt that the water was not as nice and warm as before,
he lifted his hind legs, preparing to jump out and start a new
excursion, the water's warmth reacted by gradually increasing the
desired warmth to that the frog craves. Thus, every time the frog
felt discomforted by the staggering and colder temperature of the
water, the black and steely water adjusted its surrounding to the
needs of that of the frog.
How miraculous! The frog stayed and soaked and stayed and soaked some
more. He had never felt that satisfied all his life of looking about
and around for a new and warmer water to dive into and now he has
found his paradise. There is no need to danger oneself in the wild
for the sheer sake of finding a new spot to feel at comfort. He
could just kick back and sleep and not worry about anything anymore.
A few days later, the frog that swims in warm water died. His carcass
floated and simmered in the boiling water of a kettle.
So, what is the moral of the story here? The writer of this blog thinks that
it is everybody's dream to die in comfort and at ease. However, if a morbid end
is not in your near future's plan, then do not feel comfortable at any point of
your life; it might be your destined boiling water.
