A Quick Anecdote
Today snowed somewhat furiously over the skies of Minnesota. It did not get up as high as the thigh but the wind was rough and cold. As I was walking down an alley in the U area, I saw from afar a group of familiar faces taking photos of themselves with the falling white snow as the backdrop. New-to-the-snow Malaysian freshmen, boys and girls alike. They reminded me of how I first reacted to the melting of freshly-fallen snowflakes on your warm hand. The first word that I said back then was in fact: "Can these be eaten as ais kacang with syrup?" I regret not having anyone nearby to help me to take my photos then and capture the candid me with a snowball in my hand.
